Four Week Workshop
Thursdays, October 22, 29, November 5, 12, 2009
7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Investment: $120

Get into the swing of Jazz! Learn the nuances of the jazz form and sing in chorus, and perhaps, if you feel like stepping out, as a solo voice. This class is for beginners, but fun for anyone. Instruction includes a brief survey of jazz singers.
The last class is a showcase of what you have learned. You may invite friends to hear you sing. Refreshments served.

Instructor: Charenee Wade’s music background includesa master degree from the Manhattan School of Music and performances at the Jazz Gallery and Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola. She performs regularly at venues such as The River Room and Londel’s Supper Club in Harlem.

The Master Jazz Class

Series for the Advanced Jazz Singer

Saturdays, Sept. 6, 13, 20 12 p.m.-3 p.m.

Fine-tune your technique. Emphasis on breathing, diction, voice placement, and interpretation of material you bring to class. A keyboard player and bassist will support your work. In addition to personal attention, you will find the instruction given to others in this small class enlightening and helpful in your own process.

Instructor: Ulyssess Slaughter is a premier performer and vocal coach. His most recent performer and vocal coach. His most recent performance credits include the Carnegie Recital Hall, Brooklyn Academy of Music, and the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C.

If you can sing or think you can, audition for Gospel for Teens scholarship classes and choir!
